PRESS & ARCHIVES

Leadership development among all sectors addressing HIV/AIDS has come to be recognized as a critically important endeavor as the HIV pandemic moves into its fourth decade. Globally, there is a tremendous need for well-trained leaders in healthcare, research, policy, programme management, activism and advocacy, especially in countries and settings with high HIV prevalence and limited human resource capacity. From the early days of the HIV/AIDS pandemic, it has been acknowledged that strong leadership is crucial in mounting an effective response at the community, national, and global levels. Although strong leadership may not always guarantee success for specific HIV/AIDS prevention, care, or policy programmes, it has become clear that, without effective leadership, progress and success is almost impossible. How can One overcome Parental Neglect with Ms. Jeneba Praises Koroma

We read in the Bible that children should honor their parents, however, what does the Bible say about how parents should treat their children? The Bible condemns anyone mistreating another person, whether adult or child and whether a stranger or familiar, as well as mistreating animals. Ephesians 6:4 sites that, “ And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” Although this passage mentions fathers, it is pivotal for every parent, whether male or female not to provoke their children but rather provide for the child as God provides for the parent. Proverbs 29:15 also says that “The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.” It is the parent's responsibility to raise their children in the Lord, which in itself will avoid shame and disgrace upon that parent. How should one deal with a parent who has neglected them? How can a parent avoid the habit of neglecting or abandoning their children?
